ORGANIZATION | DEVELOPMENT PLANNING
The development of the Europark goes in phases from the north to the south. From Coevorden (The Netherlands) to Laarwald (Germany). The development is dependent on demand and the economic circumstances. The industrial estate will be 350 ha large. The different development phases are global planned:
Phase 1
The 1st phase goes up to 2004 and contains the infrastructure and the preparation
of land for building of the around 83 ha and the 1st 20 ha on German ground.
Hereby belong the industrial harbour and the first main opening up road on the
B403, that is already ready. In the first half of 2004:
- The opening up road from the harbour; this runs through the Brookdiek, across the complete industrial estate;
- And the expansion of the railcontainerterminal/ROC, partly on German ground. As far as we know, the only border crossing railcontainerterminal between Germany and The Netherlands.
Phase 2, 3 and 4
In 2004 the infrastructure and preparation of land for building will be continued in the remaining German part of the Europark.
Phase 2: 92 ha
Phase 3: 97 ha
Phase 4: 40 ha
One target is, that on the German part a service centre will be build. This service
centre should offer services in general to all settled companies. This varies from a hotel up to a day nursery and from a garage for lorries up to a call centre. Furthermore, the
2nd main opening up road is planned for 2006. If it is on the Europark direction, this road will be continued in the other direction, on
Dutch area up to the N34 (Hardenberg-Emmen). But in the administration and execution is nothing standing firm.
At the moment, the Europark GmbH expects that the infrastructure for the industrial estate will be ready in 2010.
